Baldwin Spencer is the third prime minister of Antigua & Barbuda. He is rumored to be the Son of Vere Bird Senior, which would make him the brother of Vere Junior and Lester, but he never admit or deny these rumors publicly.
Baldwin Spencer is a by-product of the trade union movement in Antigua in the 60s. He was a member of the AWU and a strong supporter of Selvyn and George Walter of the PLM. A few years later he formed the UPM, but the party never gained any traction.
In 1984 he came back with the United National Democratic Party (UNDP) led by Doctor Ivor Heath and they were defeated by the ALP; His latest and hopefully his last party is the United Progressive Party (UPP)
